Centralized Safe Senders List for Outlook
November 8, 2011
I have configured a central Safe Senders list for the whole company. Any email address in this list appends to the individual lists that are associated with each user through the Outlook Junk Email Options. Users can still add and remove email addresses from their personal safe lists, this is just a way for us to add an email address to everyone’s list. Users can delete addresses that are placed on their safe list from the central list but when they reopen Outlook the address will be put back. I have set the location of the list for Outlook through Group Policy and it is located at \\bg\netlogon. I also had to configure in Group Policy the Junk email trigger to get Outlook to download the central lists. Everything was configured based on the following article: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2252421. I also configured Outlook to automatically download pictures from emails sent from addresses that are on the Safe Senders list. The reason I configured all of this so that the pictures in HTML emails sent from specific marketing addresses would be automatically downloaded because the email address is on everyone’s safe senders list. The Automatically download pictures is also configured through Group Policy.
